3D Kitty Paper Craft

Boy, Oh boy am I loving my brand new Silhouette Portrait machine!  Funny how a handy little machine can bring so much creativity and boost your crafting confidence.  I just purchased the 3D Kitty template and I love it.  I started off wanting to make a black 3D Kitty Paper Craft for Halloween but she insisted on a color that would match her room so that she could keep it in there forever.  Did you see my very first Easy Silhouette project idea  last week?  It’s a beautiful paper flower!

This craft was fairly simple but it did require some patience and a really good double sided tape roller just like these seen here.  If you have a good tape roller then you should be fine but I wouldn’t even attempt this one with any other adhesive.

I purchased the 3D Kitty Template on the Silhouette store for only 99¢ and there was a few to choose from too.  I ended up using a textured card stock which came out beautifully too. We almost always use the double sided textured cardstock because we love the different colors on each side.  Don’t use regular construction paper for a project like this because it’s not sturdy enough.

To complete the look we added some cute ribbon but twine with bells or buttons would be cute too.  Speaking of twine, have you seen the new sampler packs with all the cute colors?  Check it out here:  Colored Twine Sampler pack on Amazon  I have so many uses for that cute stuff!  I use it for food or crafting especially when giving these items as gifts.

For the eyes we used some simple tissue paper.  If you are doing a black kitty for Halloween then the light green tissue paper works awesome for the eyes.  You can grab all sorts of colors at the dollar store.  Heck, I even reuse the tissue paper that comes from gifts we receive too.
