Capri Sun Big Pouch with my recycle project!
I’m ready to show you my upcycling project that was inspired by Capri Sun Big Pouch and “Mike Wolfe, creator and star of American Pickers on History.”
I am a big fan of the show. I just love how you can find treasures tucked away in an old barn and have them be worth mega bucks! It’s almost a rush feeling every time I watch the show. I consider myself a “picker.” Always have been and always will be! I’m more of a garage sale picker than anything else. If you’ve been a reader for a while I’m certain you’ve already read my past picking post stories and examples.
I just can’t express enough importance of recycling and TerraCycle, as well as upcycling. Did you know that TerraCycle offers a drink pouch recycling program! Join the drink pouch brigade and turn used drink pouches into rewards for your school.
Capri Sun has partnered with Terracycle to make a huge impact! Recycling is extremely important to us, our children and our community. I really don’t think you can go overboard when trying to save simple items from going to the landfills. I have been known to save toilet paper rolls, soda cans, coffee cans and many other items we tend to use on a daily basis. I’ve created some pretty useful things out of toilet paper rolls too. Just look at these cute little seedling trays started from toilet paper rolls. We cut them in half and bent the ends inward, placed them in a tray and added dirt. All you need next is the seed, water and a little bit of love and voila! You’ve just recycled something!
You can recycle and even upscale when you put your mind too it! Take a minute to think about the product you are putting in the trash. Ask yourself, can it be washed and used again?! Just look at these simple soup tin cans that were decorated and used to help organize our kids craft table.  Most people don’t even think about saving cans. We used a little wrapping paper, decorative tape, some paint and voila! It was easy too! The hardest part was picking the design and cutting the paper just right to fit the can. Tip: Use a pair of pliers and tape to cover the sharp edges.

Lol Thanks! I save all my TP rolls! I save way more stuff than I probably should! I’m saving my Keurig Kcup boxes too. They will come in handy at Valentine’s parties at the school! haha!
