Lose body fat without losing muscle. Wait…What!?! That’s right. You might be working out and dieting desperately to lose that ugly fat but you will also end up losing your body muscle in the process. But, there are ways to lose fat without affecting the muscle. Here are some of the most popular and successful ways to help you do just that.

 

Protein

The first step towards muscle-preserving and fat-losing is a good intake of protein. You will be shocked to know that even in the absence of your daily workouts, proper intake of protein content will help lose fat and maintain muscle at the same time!  I have the hardest time eating protein.  I have found smoothies to be a big help with this too.

 

Meal frequency

Eat every three hours. This doesn’t mean pigging out every three hours! It is simply the attitude of evenly distributing the food consumption in order to reduce the hunger pangs, increase the metabolism and also avoids the rise and fall in sugar level.

 

Weight Training

In order to build muscle as well as lose fat at the same time, weight lifting is the best means to maintain the shape of the body. especially when it comes to gut fat and all those other difficult body fat zones.  Weight training will burn a lot of energy which automatically burns the fat in the body.

 

Cut down on Cardio

Too much of cardio will burn away the fat, but will also result in a good reduction of muscle. This is because, a high duration on cardio will lead to development of stress which will be further triggered by low carbs.

 

Monitoring

In order to intake the right amount of calories which are sufficient for the body, the body mass must be monitored continuously.

This can be done in any one of the following ways.

  • Callipers
  • BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis)
  • Waist to Hip measurements

 

It is good to try to reduce the ugly fat content in our body. But proper care must be taken to make sure that it doesn’t happen at the expense of our muscles!
