Peanut Butter Pie in a Mason  Jar

How cute is this Peanut Butter Pie in a Mason Jar?  Wouldn’t these be perfect as individual dessert ideas at a party or gathering?  These desserts can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator the day before too.

This recipe is absolutely delicious and I make it any time I get a chance.  I want to mention there is a way to lighten it up a bit too.  You can use a light or fat free cream cheese.  You can opt in for a reduced fat peanut butter.  It really doesn’t change the taste all that much either.  It’s a great way to indulge while you are still watching your calorie intake.  You could also skip the crust all together.

The cool whip topping in this recipe is what makes is smooth and silky.  Usually I use the real cream topping but you wouldn’t get that light, fluffy texture needed like you will when you use cool whip.

Get creative with the toppings too.  Sometimes we add those mini chocolate chips, other times we use the mini Reese’s cups.  We have also used chopped up Reese’s Pieces candies too.

Be sure you have enough mason jars before you make this recipe.  You can easily find the little 4 oz Mason Jelly Jars here on Amazon.   I often have a hard time finding the smaller ones in my local stores.  Not sure why that is but I’ve always had to order them online.
