Le Creuset Round French Oven Review

I am new to the Le Creuset brand so when I was given a chance for a Le Creuset Round French Oven review I gladly accepted!  I recently took a cooking course downtown Austin, Texas and they had Le Creuset everywhere.  The bright colors immediately caught my attention as pans were hanging from the ceiling.

I received the new Midnight Grey which is absolutely stunning!  It’s got a beautiful sparkle to it too.  I may have drooled a bit as I opened the box for the very first time.  You can find the Midnight Grey featured in the Le Creuset Outlet Stores exclusively.  A variety of Midnight Grey cast iron products and utensils are now available and in July a selection of Midnight Grey enamel-on-steel products such as stockpots and tea kettles will be available!

The French oven pan is perfect for stews and braises!  I happen to be making a homemade spaghetti sauce in my Le Creuset pan.  This pan is made of cast iron with is heavy.  It’s coated with a enamel finish which makes clean up much easier than the regular cast iron pans I’m used to.  The enamel is also less reactive to certain ingredients you are cooking such as, tomatoes, sauerkraut, etc…

I love how evenly the Le Creuset pans cook.  They heat goes all the way up to the sides which does not happen in other pans.  I received the 2 qt Le Creuset Round French Oven but I can already tell you that I will be purchasing more to complete my set.  I think the 5 1/2 qt is a must for me.  I might even go for the 7 1/4 qt too.  As I’m thinking about it, this would make a perfect gift idea for that foodie in your life!  I know I would enjoy it as a gift!
