Perfect Liver Cleanse Cocktail with an Energy Booster

It’s the new year and most of us are thinking about those resolutions.  I’m not too big on resolutions but one thing I want to do is take care of my body better.  It’s time to flush all the toxins out and give myself a fresh start for the new year.  I think of it as changing the oil in my body to make it run better.  Almost like you do for your car.  I’m working with a nutrition coach on she is the one that gave me this recipe concoction.  I’ve gotta tell you.  It sucked the first day.  I was able to drink it but I wasn’t used to the taste at all.  By the time I got to the second day it really wasn’t all that bad.  The third day I think I may have craved it.  I wanted a cleanse that would boost my energy levels and help with cravings.  My husband is doing this cleanse with me because of all the alcohol he drank over the holidays.  We have both noticed a big difference in how we feel!

This liver cleanse cocktail consists of only a few ingredients:

  • 4 oz – Pure Unsweetened Cranberry Juice (not the kind that’s loaded with sugar that are found at your local grocery store but rather these brands found on Amazon or at your local health food store)
  • 1/2 Fresh squeezed Lemon
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar (Bragg Organic is the BEST!)
  • Ice
  • 4 oz Water
  • B-12 Drops (25 drops)

Combine all the above ingredients and mix well.  Drink up!

I have learned that the liver is one of the most important organs in our body.  It filters out all the toxins and waste from the blood.  It’s aids in digestion by manufacturing proteins, metabolizing fat, storing nutrients and carbohydrates.

This concoction will help rid the liver of harmful substances by keeping the body’s pH levels from becoming too acidic, a condition that can make a person vulnerable to weight resistance and disease.

The B-12 Drops are the secret ingredient that give you a serious energy boost!  You should also be able to find these at your local health food store or there are plenty of good ones here on Amazon too.

Did you know?  Your liver metabolizes 80% of your body’s fat. It purifies 4 pints of blood per minute.  And it produces bile to help metabolize fat.  This is why it’s extremely important to cleanse the liver.

Feel free to do this routine for a full 21 days!  My nutritionist tells me she does this daily all the time.  I might just continue it after the 21 days because of how good I feel.

Another tip she gave me along with eating sensibly is to snack sensibly too.  She introduced me to the ThinkThin bars.  I’ve never been into bars of any kind because of the sugar but these have no sugar with high protein and they actually taste good.  They are considered a Lo Gi food and Gluten free product!  My favorite is the Peanut Butter Thinkthin bar.  YUM!!!

I plan to add the Top 5 Super Foods to my lifestyle change too.  This will be fairly simple to do.

What are you doing different to start off the new year right?  Do you have any goals?  New Years Resolutions?

  1. I already take B12 regularly so I won’t be putting drops in it.
And it’s always best to take this type of drink in the morning I think.

  2. Totally adding this to my regimen. Thanks!
Sounds super gross, but a coffee enema increases glutathione by over 600%, also dilates ducts for more bike production and release. My husband has to do them for cancer treatment but Ive been doing it too and it’s inmatched in colon cleansing!

  3. I have been drinking this on an empty stomach each morning. I saw it on Dr. Berg on YouTube. He didn’t use the B12. I also read this is good to stop excessive menstrual bleeding. I started it for this reason. It seems to be working. I don’t know how it works though.

    1. I’m sorry, I don’t have a clue. I would go by the recommended dosage on the bottle. I’ve also heard that you should but those under your tongue to dissolve. I prefer the drops myself.

  4. Started this on 11/28/15. I’m only on day 4. I didn’t find this too tart, I’m used to drinking ACV and water in the morning. So far so good. Feel a bit more energetic, but should learn to go to bed earlier. LOL. Me and my husband are doing this together. I’ll let you know after 21 days.

  5. Do you think fresh or frozen whole cranberrys would put thru the blender would do the same as cranberry juice? Thought could make it into a smoothie. I have one every morning with fruit and spinach and always add apple cider vinegar and lemon juice to it.

    1. I would think the fresh or frozen cranberrys would be just fine. Actually it would probably come out thick and icy like a slushy. YUM! I might have to try that myself.

    1. Heather,
I noticed my energy spiked which caused me to get more stuff done leading to a drop in a few pounds. So my answer would be yes but only because of how it made me feel and I was more active. Does that make sense?

  6. It calls for 25 drops of B12, my dropper is 1ml, 1000mg per drop. Do I still put 25 drops? That’s a lot of b12.

    1. I’m not sure I’m understanding you. I fill up my dropper about 1/2 way full and I count out each drop that falls in the glass up to a total of 25. Does that help?

      1. Different droppers may “drop” at different volumes – I think Lori is saying with her dropper, she would be putting a total of 25,000mg in her drink, and wants to verify if that is correct or too much B12 in one serving.

  7. I started this today and I see everyone and had no problem drinking the whole this. saying it taste sour but I like it . So I want to know is this a one a day drink?

  8. OH. MY. GOODNESS. I have never tasted anything so sour in my life. Can’t imagine it getting any easier but will push through it. Since it tastes so awful, it must be good for us, right?

    1. Jennifer it is a liver detox I would not expect for
It to be that good in taste. Why would you want to add to it? You need to follow the concoction verbatim Dear…

    1. Yes! This is exactly my reaction when I took my first taste too. I could hardly down the stuff. I can tell you it will get better. You can add a bit more water to help dilute it a bit but that’s just more to drink in my opinion. By day three you won’t think much about the taste and you may even crave it like I did. My nutritionist tells me it’s balancing the levels in my body. I honestly believe her.

      1. I mixed up my first drink late in the day and wasn’t able to finish it. (Heck, I think I barely drank 2 ounces of it after 4 hours of sipping on it!) Put it in the fridge and was able to finish it the next day.) Day two and three weren’t too bad. It still took me a couple hours to get through it. I kept having to add ice or put it in the fridge for a while – seems like the colder it is the easier it is to drink. Today was day 4 but I couldn’t finish half of it. I’m battling a bit of a sore throat and this drink felt like flames going down my throat. LOL. I put it in the fridge and hopefully I’ll be able to finish it tomorrow.

I did a little research and I agree with you about balancing levels in your body. I’ve read research about how our bodies are so brainwashed to crave sugar, salt and oil. I think this drink will pretty much kill those cravings…. or maybe just my taste buds. LOL

    1. Not too expensive considering the health benefit I gain from it. I have linked the best deals I’ve found for these ingredients in my article. You might keep your eyes on sales for the cranberry juice.

    1. I do this daily. Every day. Only once a day though. It really helps with my cravings. I would at least do it for 21 days straight. I just prefer to keep it up. It has really helped me with energy too.
