Microwave Quick Potato Casserole

- 3 large potatoes
- 1 large yellow onion
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- garlic salt to taste
- cracked black pepper to taste
- american cheese optional
- sour cream optional
Peel and chop and rinse potatoes. I prefer them cut round or diced
Cut onion round less than 1/4 inch slices.
Layer in a 2 Qt casserole dish.
Add butter every other layer
Add garlic salt and cracked black pepper to taste.
Place the lid on the casserole dish and cook in microwave for 20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
Stir about every 10 minutes to evenly distribute butter.
Add american cheese or sour cream after cooking is complete. (optional)
