Cake Donuts Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup of white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of shortening
  • 1 cup of confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract

Instructions

  • On your oven, set to preheat at 325 degrees F. After doing so, lightly grease a donut pan.
  • Take out a large bowl. In this bowl, mix your flour, baking soda, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt together. Stir in milk, eggs, vanilla and shortening now, and beat this together well and until it is all blended.
  • Fill each of your donut cups about 3/4 of the way full with the batter. Bake these donuts for about 8 to 10 minutes in the oven which is already preheated, and until the donuts spring back when touched.
  • Allow these donuts to cool before removing from the pan.
  • To make your glaze, blend together your confectioners' sugar, almond extract, and hot water into a small bowl. Dip your donuts into this glaze when serving.
