Spinach Pakoras

Ingredients

  • 1 cup besan/gram flour
  • 1 medium chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped spinach or palak
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1 chopped green chili
  • 1 tsp fennel seed powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • a pinch of asafoetida/hing
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1/2-1 cup water
  • salt for taste
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  • Mix the ingredients together into a semi think batter. This batter should not be thin, but more like idli bater.
  • Take spoonfuls of the pakora, and fry them in hot oil until they are a golden brown in color.
  • Once fried, these Spinach Pakoras can be served with tomato sauce, chutney, and bread slices.
