It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas music is playing on the radio, lights are twinkling in windows, and families are gathered around tables enjoying delicious holiday meals. If you’re looking for a festive and tasty dessert to make for your Christmas feast this year, look no further than these chocolate peppermint blossoms!

With the holidays just around the corner that means it’s time to start thinking about all of the delicious food we’ll get to enjoy! One of my personal favorite holiday recipes is for Chocolate Peppermint Blossoms.

These little cookies are perfect for any holiday party or get-together and they’re always a hit with kids and adults alike.  Best of all, they’re super easy to make!

Chocolate Peppermint Blossoms

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • Hershey’s Chocolate Peppermint Bells or Candy Cane Kisses

Instructions

1. Line a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper and preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. In a small mixing bowl, combine your butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar and mix well.

3. Mix in your vanilla extract and eggs.

4. In a separate mixing bowl, combine your flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt and mix into your butter mixture with a tablespoon of cream.

5. Fork the dough into ping pong sized balls, roll into a small bowl of sugar and place onto your lined baking sheet.

6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, unwrap your Peppermint Bells and press one gently onto the center of each cookie.
