Handwashing Hacks For Grease and Grime

When it comes to getting grease and grime off your hands, many people simply turn to any number of expensive products on the market and hope for the best. Half of these handwashing products don’t work all that well and cost more than they should. Fortunately, there are a number of awesome hand washing techniques and hacks that work wonders on grease without much money at all. In fact, many of these are free and can be done with items around the house.

Here are some great handwashing hacks that will remove grease without any fuss at all:

Products that Work

Most mechanics swear by a product called Fast Orange but most will  lecture you to wear gloves to protect yourself from cancer.  Gojo is another product that leads promising results.  I had a friend that runs a screen print shop swear by Gojo.

Grits and Dish Soap

This is a great solution that is extremely quick and easy. Just take some standard dishwashing soap (like Dawn) and mix it with a bit of water and a tablespoon of dry grits. This mixture will work extremely well at getting that grease loose and gone.

Crisco Oil or Lard

This will remove grease rather easily and then you simply need to wipe your hands well to remove the oily residue left behind. Crisco has been used by mechanics for ages.

Lotions

Pretty much any type of lotion will do the trick and will remove the majority of your hand grease. The best solution, however, is to apply the lotion before you begin. This will make it far easier to remove the grease later.

Used Coffee Grounds and Dish Washing Soap

This is a favorite among the mechanics as well because the coffee grounds prevents your hands from drying out as badly. When you have grease every single day, this makes a big difference.

Baby oil

Baby oil works much like lotion and it leaves the skin feeling quite nice as well. This is also effective to put on before you begin working with greasy materials.

Olive Oil

Finally, olive oil is a perfect solution for grimy, dirty hands and fingernails. The oil will leave your hands clean and ready for a date in no time flat. If you need to clean your hands quickly, this one works the best in my view.
