Louisiana Style Dirty Rice One Pot Recipe
One pot meal recipes like this don’t get any easier than this! This Louisiana Style Dirty Rice recipe is loaded with flavor and is a hit with anyone who tries it! Your friends will beg you for the recipe.

It’s starts with only six ingredients and no prep work either! I should call this a dump recipe because you basically dump it and bake it. Easy, peasy!
Here’s all the ingredients you need:

Ingredients List:
- 1 bushel of fresh green onion
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb spicy breakfast sausage
- 2 small 10.5 oz cans of French Onion Soup
- 1 large 22.6 oz can of Cream of Mushroom soup
- 1 1/4 cup Long Grain Rice
Instructions for this Louisiana Style Dirty Rice recipe:
Dice the green onions before starting. Add all of the ingredients to a large baking dish. The larger the dish the shorter time it will bake. The smaller the dish the longer it will take to bake it fully till it’s done. I used an 8 x 10 baking dish which took almost 2 hours to bake at 350 degrees but I highly suggest using a 9 x 13 baking dish for a shorter baking time.
Add all the ingredients to your baking dish. Use clean hands and a glove (if you prefer) to hand mix all these ingredients until they are fully combined and mixed together. No need to spray the dish with a non stick cooking spray either. This recipe has enough fat from the proteins that it will not stick.

Once it’s fully combined. Add it to an oven preheated at 350 degrees and bake it until it’s firm in the center. You should be able to wiggle the baking sheet back and forth and if it moves, continue baking it. Each oven is different. I baked mine for almost 2 hours using a 8 x 10 baking pan. It may take an hour and a half or longer to almost 2 hours depending on the type of pan you use.
This recipe is loaded with flavor! It doesn’t need any seasonings because the soups and sausage have all the salt and seasonings needed for the full flavor in this dish. The breakfast sausage is spicy but let me tell you, this recipe is not spicy at all. Feel free to experiment with different sausage flavors too. Or feel free to add your own seasonings if you only use ground beef. Just make sure it pairs nicely with the French onion soup in the recipe.
This dish comes out perfect every single time! It’s loaded with protein so this can be used as a one pot meal or paired with another protein for an extra high protein meal.
Also, here’s a little tip you could use regarding the green onions. Don’t throw out the bottom roots of the green onions because they will regrow if you add them to dirt in your garden or add them to a cup of water and place them in your refrigerator. If you decide to regrow them on your refrigerator, just be sure to replace the water every week as needed. I’ve also kept a planter of soil on my counter with herbs that grow under my under cabinet lighting all year long with no worry of winter weather for my herbs!

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family does!
