Homemade Natural Bug Spray using Essential Oils

I have to start off by telling you that I am not one that follows any kind of popular trend or fade.  When I first heard of essential oils and all the natural ways people are using them I was intrigued.  I’m embarrassed to say that I started with a huge kit I found on Amazon for really, really cheap.  It wasn’t until I was introduced to Young Living essential oils that I knew there were big differences between brands.  It’s not really easy to figure out how much of an oil is pure because of how it’s regulated.  The easiest thing for me to read was learning that some oils and brands can be digested and most are for external use only.  I’ve learned to steer clear of the external use only oils that claim to be pure.

I love Young Living Essential Oils!  Learn how to start using essential oils here.

I have found so many really good recipes that really do work.  For example, this all natural bug spray recipe is perfect and doesn’t contain those nasty chemicals.  Most importantly, it works!

1 small spray bottle (this can be found at any dollar store)

4 oz Witch Hazel

4 oz Distilled water

5 drops Young Living Peppermint

10 drops Young Living Purification

10 drops Young Living Thieves oil

Take Action:  All of these oils can be found in the Premium Start Up kit!!  Sign up here!

Here are a few more of our favorite recipes using essential oils:

Homemade Cloud Dough:  This is a soft playdough type stuff that the kids can play with for hours on end!  It’s kind of therapeutic for the parents too.  I can squish this stuff all day long.

Essential Oils Diffuser Necklace:  This is a simple craft that you can wear to smell your favorite oil all day long!  We have made many of these for our friends and they simply love them.
