Essential Oils for Abdominal Pain

Stomach pain or stomach ache is one of the worst illnesses we can endure as human beings. Digestive problems can be extremely uncomfortable and we are constantly looking for solutions to abdominal pain. For centuries, human beings have used essential oils in one form or another to treat abdominal pain and other ailments. There are many different oils that can do wonders when we have a stomach ache. Here are several of the best:

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus is very popular as a natural solution for stomach pain. Widely used for many different ailments, this essential oil is a powerful way to get rid of germs in the colon and intestines. Eucalyptus can be used in several different ways including ingestion for some brands. Be sure to check your particular version for safety precautions.

Coriander Essential Oil

This famous essential oil is known for being the ultimate stomach essential oil. It regulates all functions of the stomach and helps with cleansing one out. If you have stomach problems, coriander is a great place to start with essential oils.

Fennel Essential Oil

Fennel is a wonderful solution as well and it is quite popular for stomach distress. This oil is quite strong, however, and it generally requires a carrier oil to really be effective. It is considered a base oil to have a healthy digestive system.

Ginger Essential Oil

Ginger is used for thousands of things but stomach pain is certainly one of them. Long known as a natural cure for nausea, ginger essential oil is a great way to get rid of most any stomach ailment. If it is not helpful in a direct way, ginger essential oils that are put into a diffuser can bring calm, serenity when you are in pain. Ginger is quite diverse in it’s uses to be sure.

Peppermint and Clove Essential Oil Mixture

This mixture is my go-to mixture when I have a stomach ache and I have always had great luck with it. Essentially you mix one teaspoon of carrier oil (vegetable oil does the trick nicely) with 3 drops of peppermint and 2 drops of clove. Make sure the mixture is interspersed well and then use it as a massaging balm on your belly where the pain is. You will be shocked at how much better you will feel when you are finished.

Essential Oils for abdominal pain and stomach aches are truly a life saver. I think of what it must have been like before modern medicine and I would guess these would have been staples in the “medicine cabinets” of old. If you want to go the natural way, this is a great solution to try.
