This Oven Roasted Caramelized Broccoli Recipe is a must try.  My kids rave about this broccoli.  They even ask to take it to school for snack!  I’m not even kidding!  Once you try broccoli this way I highly doubt you will ever go back to making it any other way.  Guess what?!  It’s also Paleo Approved!  There is a delicious way to eat your greens!

The method is simple.  All it takes is a bit of olive oil, sea salt and broccoli to make a healthy treat.  When you roast the broccoli at a high temperature it caramelizes and creates a crispy, sweet and almost candy like flavor!  It’s not burnt!  It’s caramelized.  We all fit over the darker caramelized pieces too!

Ingredients:

1 Bag of fresh broccoli, trimmed and cut into spears1/4 cup olive oilsea salt to taste

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Place the trimmed broccoli in a baggie with 1/4 cup olive oil and sea salt.  Shake it until the oil completely covers all of it.
  3. Lay the trimmed broccoli smooth side down on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for approximately 15 minutes until you get a golden color broccoli.  Be sure to watch it closely because you don’t want it to burn.

 

Pro Tip:  One of my favorite tips for baking is the silicone baking mat.  I use it for everything from broccoli to cookies!

 

This is one of the easiest and delicious recipes I’ve ever tried for fresh broccoli!  It certainly brings out the sweet caramelized flavor of the broccoli.
