They might seem like such small, insignificant things, but the handles and pulls on your kitchen cabinets can make quite a statement. If you want to do a little bit of refreshing in your kitchen, this is a great place to start.

It is an inexpensive project, can be done quickly, doesn’t require a lot of DIY experience or knowledge and you won’t need a lot of tools for it. You may be quite surprised at what an impact changing those handles and pulls can make in your kitchen.

Organize Your Pantry

Whether you have a huge pantry that you can walk around and get lost in, or a tiny nook that you can only reach into, keeping it organized can save you money and sanity. It can be a very inexpensive investment to purchase containers and labels (check out the Dollar Tree!) and put everything in order.

Spend a weekend getting your pantry in order so you can find what you need, when you need it. Use small white boards attached to the pantry door to write down items you are low on or keep track of the inventory in your pantry. The bottom line is that you want to get your pantry organized and you can do so without spending a lot of money.

Create a Family Message Center

Create a family message center where everyone can leave notes for each other, drop off notes from school or work, write down shopping list items, and more. Find an area in your home that is centrally located and easily seen by everyone in the family.

Shop around at local home centers, office supply centers or dollar stores for a sizeable white board, magnetic board, or cork bulletin board. Hang these on the wall in the message center location. Check local stores or online retailers for a multi-compartment literature sorter to use as a mail and note sorter for each family members.
