Seven Simple Pimple Fighting Tips and Hacks
There are very few people on the planet that have not had to fight the random pimple. No matter how clean we might keep our faces, pimples will eventually find their way into our lives it seems. If you suffer from acne or pimples, don’t be alarmed. There are a ton of great solutions out there. Here are seven tips and hacks to help you eliminate those pimples or prevent them in the first place:
Don’t Pick At Them
When a pimple first shows up, your first instinct will likely be to pick at it. That is the last thing you should ever do with a pimple. That will only make the pimple grow larger and hang around longer. Pimples generally will go away on their own after a few days, but will hang around much longer if you pick at them. If you need to get them gone sooner, consider some of the following tips.
Keep Your Makeup Utensils Clean
When you apply makeup to your skin, they eventually get quite dirty. They pick up oil, dirt and various other things that you need to make sure you remove. Keeping a regular cleaning schedule for your makeup tools can help you avoid pimples for sure.
Harness Steam For Pimple Fighting Power
Steaming your face is a great way to fight pimples because it makes your skin much more receptive to exfoliation. To do this, simply heat up a bowl of hot water (or fill a sink) and put your face over it with a towel over your head. This steam will soften your skin and make it much easier to clean. Needless to say a sauna works well also, but not everyone has one handy on most days.
Don’t Scrub…Gently Clean
Another huge mistake when fighting pimples is the urge to scrub your face. Instead, gently clean the surface of the skin with a good exfoliate. There are many great ones out there. Experiment until you find one that works well for your skin type.
Brown Sugar and Honey
If you want a homemade exfoliate, brown sugar and honey does the trick quite nicely. All you have to do is mix up 6 teaspoons of brown sugar and 2 teaspoons of honey. Mix them extremely well and then gently apply this all over your face. Let it dry and then remove it with cold water. You will be shocked at how well this does the trick. You also will smell divine for a few hours at least.
Yet another good homemade pimple fighting process is to simply peel and slice a potato. Take the slices and put them directly on the affected area. The potato sucks up the oils and really leaves your skin feeling soft and comfortable. Some folks even squeeze the juices out of the potato and use them as a soap of sorts. The common house potato is quite impressive.
