Keto Diet: Intermittent Fasting For Weight Loss

I’ve been working with Dr. Boz. She is a Keto Coach! We are testing a few things to get my insulin resistance in line. We are doing Intermittent Fasting for Weight loss because I’ve been stalled. I’ve basically been losing and gaining the same 5 pounds for the last 6 months even though I’ve been staying on track with my macronutrients and what I am supposed to eat.

Here’s our very first Facebook Live video replay. This is a video where she talks about what we plan on testing. She explains that she wants me to use a Blood Glucose and Ketone meter to track my results.

Here’s our second consultation with Dr. Boz on Facebook Live. Here we review my blood and glucose readings from the week prior. We also introduced my husband on to the show because he has different reasons for doing the Keto diet. He is trying to lose weight to alleviate some knee pain he is having.

Dr. Boz explains how to read blood and glucose readings. She says to divide the glucose number by the ketone number to get a ratio percentage. Anything under an 80% ratio and you would be considered to be in a weight loss zone! This is exciting that I can track accurate numbers with a simple test in the morning. She requires me to fast for at least 12 hours a day. Fasting means nothing but water and salt. Nothing else. By fasting for 12 hours a day, you are completely allowing your liver to rid your body of the insulin from the food you eat. You are also allowing your body to enter a phase called autophagy.
